About Canceria
Who we are and how we support patients and families.
What is Canceria?
We are an independent global organization focused on cancer treatment. Our work brings together treatment research and individualized services to help patients and families explore questions and possibilities relevant to a specific case. Our approach is grounded in published evidence and informed by scientific perspectives across disciplines and countries.
What can Canceria do for me?
We begin by reviewing your case. If accepted, we may provide individualized proprietary research, treatment guidance, and support with treatment implementation, tailored to your specific circumstances. Our approach brings together scientific evidence, cancer biology, and your treatment history to identify relevant therapeutic possibilities and develop a clearer direction for your case.
How is Canceria’s work different from a hospital or my oncology team?
While hospitals and oncology teams primarily focus on clinical care and treatment delivery, Canceria takes a broader, research-driven approach to each individual case. We investigate cancer biology, treatment history, resistance mechanisms, and emerging therapeutic possibilities to develop individualized treatment strategies. Our work combines scientific research, treatment guidance, and support with treatment implementation to explore opportunities that may extend beyond conventional treatment pathways.
What does Canceria mean by “independent”?
Our direction is determined by research and evidence. We are not funded by pharmaceutical companies or organizations with a financial interest in our conclusions. Our scientific context spans disciplines and countries.
Treatment & Eligibility
How we consider individual cases and treatment-related support.
Which patients can receive support or treatment through Canceria?
We evaluate each case individually, considering the diagnosis, available medical information, treatment history, current circumstances, and the patient’s questions and priorities. Submitting a case does not guarantee acceptance or the availability of a particular service or treatment.
Does Canceria work with advanced or treatment-resistant cancers?
Yes. Canceria works with cases involving advanced, progressing, and treatment-resistant cancers. Our individualized approach examines previous treatments, potential resistance mechanisms, and the underlying biology of the disease to identify scientifically relevant therapeutic possibilities. Even when previous treatments have been unsuccessful, there may be other treatment directions worth investigating. Each case is carefully evaluated to determine how Canceria can best provide support.
I'm afraid of chemotherapy, radiation, and other conventional cancer treatments. Can Canceria offer me alternative treatment options?
Yes. If you are uncomfortable with conventional treatments, you can explore other approaches based on your individual circumstances. Cancer treatment is not always limited to one path, and different options may be available depending on your cancer type, medical history, and treatment needs.
Can Canceria help if I have already tried several treatments?
Yes, you can submit your case for review. Previous treatments and how the cancer responded are important parts of understanding your situation and which questions may merit closer examination. Further support depends on the individual evaluation.
Can Canceria identify treatment possibilities for my individual case?
Yes. Canceria investigates each accepted case individually to identify treatment possibilities based on the cancer’s biology, molecular characteristics, treatment history, and response patterns. Our approach combines scientific evidence, proprietary research, and the investigation of emerging therapeutic strategies to develop individualized treatment directions. This allows us to explore possibilities that may not be fully addressed by conventional treatment approaches, with the goal of identifying the most relevant opportunities for each patient.
Can I work with Canceria while continuing my current treatment?
Yes. You can begin a Cancer Case Review while receiving treatment, and we consider current and previous treatment as part of your case.
Does Canceria accept every case?
No. We evaluate each submission individually to decide whether further consideration is appropriate.
Getting Started
What to expect when you begin a Cancer Case Review.
How can I start my treatment through Canceria?
Begin by submitting a Cancer Case Review. The entire process is completely free of charge, including case submission, evaluation, and communication of the outcome. If your case is accepted, separate services may be offered. Submitting a review starts the assessment process, not clinical treatment.
What happens during case review and the treatment-starting process?
Our team evaluates the information you provide to understand the clinical context and consider whether Canceria may be able to offer further support. We communicate the outcome when the review is complete. If your case is accepted, we discuss appropriate services, any additional information needed, and the next steps.
What happens after Canceria accepts my case?
We discuss which services may fit your circumstances. These may include individualized proprietary research, treatment guidance, and support with treatment implementation. We explain the relevant next steps and costs before you decide whether to proceed.
What is the Preliminary Case Compatibility Assessment?
It is a short set of questions to help you explore whether Canceria’s Case Review may fit your situation and expectations. It is an initial screening step, not a medical assessment or treatment recommendation, and it does not confirm acceptance.
What information should I provide?
Begin with what you know. Helpful details include the cancer type and stage, if known; diagnosis date; current and previous treatments; current treatment status; relevant medical information; and what you hope to understand. You do not need every record ready to begin. If more information would help, we can explain what to provide.
Can a family member submit a case for someone else?
Yes. The Case Review form allows someone to submit information for themselves or for a person they support, including a family member. Please involve the patient where possible and make sure you have appropriate permission to share their medical information.
Do I need a referral from my doctor to contact Canceria?
No. You do not need a referral from your doctor to submit a Cancer Case Review. You can contact us directly and provide the medical information available to you. If additional information or records are needed, our team will explain what to provide.
How long does the Cancer Case Review take?
Review times vary depending on the complexity of the case and the information available. Our team will communicate the outcome once the review is complete. You can contact us if you have questions about the status of your submission.
Costs & International Access
Cancer Case Review is free; learn how separate services are priced and how to access Canceria internationally.
How much does the Cancer Case Review cost?
Cancer Case Review is completely free of charge. There is no charge for submitting your case, evaluating it, or communicating the review outcome.
What do subsequent services and treatment-related support cost?
If your case is accepted, separate individualized services may be offered, including proprietary research, treatment guidance, and support with treatment implementation. Their costs are determined individually based on your case and the services required. We explain any applicable costs before you decide whether to proceed. These services are separate from the free Cancer Case Review.
Will I need to travel to another country?
We can provide services remotely. Whether travel is needed depends on the treatment being considered and your circumstances. We discuss this with you if a particular next step is being considered.
Can I contact Canceria if I live in another country?
Yes. Canceria is a global organization and services can be provided remotely. The options available depend on your case and the services required.
Research & Individualized Approach
How research and your individual circumstances inform our approach.
How does Canceria take my individual situation into account?
We consider the case as a whole: diagnosis and available records, cancer characteristics, treatments received, responses, current circumstances, and your priorities and questions. This context helps us determine which issues and treatment possibilities may deserve closer examination.
What is Canceria’s proprietary research?
Proprietary Research is Canceria’s original and commissioned research, including analyses, investigations, and studies we develop ourselves. It is distinct from our public Research library, which explains and analyzes published literature for a general audience. Access to Proprietary Research is limited and arranged directly through Canceria.
How does Canceria use published research in an individual case?
We look beyond the findings of individual studies to understand what they could mean for your specific situation. By examining both established knowledge and newer discoveries, we explore how scientific advances might open up additional treatment possibilities for your case.
